Features Mars Is A Real Place Cardboard
Mars Is A Real Place is a musical slideshow of stereoscopic 3D photos of the surface of Mars.
Works with Google Cardboard.Be inspired by the diverse landforms, brush up on your planetary geology terms, and make a bet with yourself on how long until a human footprint shows up in one of these photos!Featuresâ˘âMore than 50 high-resolution images have been hand-picked and presented for your viewing pleasure.
All of the images are stereoscopic and care has been taken to ensure they are all comfortable to view in 3D (minimized retinal rivalry, panoramas are each shown at the proper FOV wrapping around the player, hard-to-converge portions cropped out, etc)â˘âMost of the slideshow is set to music, so headphones are recommended.â˘âEach image comes with supporting information for those that want to delve a little deeper into each landscape.â˘âAs of v1.01, specific images can be marked as favorites, allowing you to browse through a smaller set of images.Whats Google Cardboard?â˘âCardboard is a lowÂcost, easyÂtoÂget virtual reality viewer that transforms a phone into a basic VR headset.

Additionally, shutting down other background tasks may help with performance. Some other things to know:â˘âBuilt using Cardboard SDK 0.4.9.
This should improve app stability for some devices, and an experimental drift correction mode is now an option that you can select when starting up the app.
Note that this drift correction is great for devices where the scene just keeps rotating and rotating, but if you already had a stable view it may make things worse with a "floaty" feel to the head tracking.
Hopefully you will find a mode that suits you!
â˘âYour view may occasionally jump suddenly -- Im still not sure what is causing this, but I suspect it simply depends on the quality of the sensor data coming from your device.
Will keep looking into this.â˘âIf you ever need to reset your "forward direction", simply tilt your headset (with your phone in it) on its left or right side.I hope you enjoy this!v1.01: Added "favorites" feature, and addressed a potentially long gap of silence between songs.

What Our Users Say
Don't just take our word for it. Here's what our users have to say about our Android app.
"Charged me 2 times"
Emy Kamel
"Unparalleled quality. Which is both great and sad considering how underutilised the cardboard is when it comes to quality software."
Attila Kalina
"Brilliant! Last scene is real killer :)"
MichaĹ FijoĹek
"... it was all black and white, plus the really amazing stuff is some great panoramas at the end"
Carlo Marchiori
"I stood on Mars and took a peek around! Woohoo! Just mind-blowing experience. Thanks for making this. Probably one of the best investments I have made! I would recommend everyone who is into Space, Mars or Science in general to go for this app! Worth every penny."
Sugavanesh Balasubramanian
"Titans of space was amazing and this one was boring, repetitive and the black and white hurt my eyes. It's well made but what little imagery we have about this planet makes it unimersive. Next app should be about distant solar systems or inside a nebula."
Sonny Lian
"... even though there's space in my phone."
Derick Goh
"Got prompts but when loading the apps would just close."
Stephen Pompeo
"This is amazing! Please keep up the excellent work of ultra high quality vr apps! Great job!"
Peter Gomberg
"5 stars for last pano"
